30-Day vs 60-Day A2A Visa: Which Visa Change Should You Book?

Quick answer: 30 day vs 60 day A2A visa: book 30 days if you need under a month more in the UAE, and 60 days if you are job hunting or staying longer. Emirates Visit Visas lists A2A at USD 280 for 30 days and USD 450 for 60 days. The flight is booked separately unless your package includes it.

Pick a 30-day A2A visa change if you need under a month more, and 60 days if you are job hunting or staying longer. An A2A (airport-to-airport) visa change means you leave the UAE on a short flight, usually to Muscat International Airport in Oman. A new UAE visit visa (entry permit) is issued while you are away, and you fly back in on the new visa, often the same day. Both options use the same process. Only the stay length and price differ. As of October 2026, Emirates Visit Visas lists the 30-day A2A visa change at USD 280 and the 60-day A2A visa change at USD 450, both with same-day processing. That works out to about USD 9.33 per day for 30 days and USD 7.50 per day for 60 days. The return flight is a separate cost. Your new stay is counted from your re-entry stamp, and the visa is issued under the rules of the GDRFA Dubai and the ICP.

What Is the Difference Between a 30-Day and 60-Day A2A Visa?

A 30-day A2A visa is a new UAE visit visa that gives you 30 days of stay from the day you re-enter after an airport-to-airport exit. A 60-day A2A visa works the same way but gives you 60 days. The exit, the paperwork and the airport process are the same for both.

Which A2A Visa Is Cheaper Per Day?

The 60-day A2A visa is cheaper per day. At USD 450 for 60 days you pay about USD 7.50 a day. At USD 280 for 30 days you pay about USD 9.33 a day.

The bigger saving comes from avoiding a second visa change. If you book 30 days now and then find you need another month, you pay for a second A2A and a second flight:

Plan for 60 days in the UAE Visa packages (USD) Flights needed Approvals needed
One 60-day A2A USD 450 1 return flight 1
Two 30-day A2As back to back USD 560 (2 × 280) 2 return flights 2
Difference USD 110 saved with 60 days One flight saved One less approval risk

If you only need 10 to 20 extra days, the 30-day option is still the cheaper total. Cost per day only matters if you will use the days.

Which A2A Visa Change Should You Book?

Use your plan, not the price per day, to decide.

Book the 30-day A2A visa if:

  • You need under a month more, for example to finish a holiday or a family visit.
  • You already have a fixed return ticket home within 30 days.
  • Your employer is about to issue your work entry permit and you only need cover until then.
  • You want the lowest upfront cost.

Book the 60-day A2A visa if:

  • You are job hunting in Dubai or elsewhere in the UAE. Interviews and offers often take longer than four weeks.
  • You are on a long family stay, for example to help with a new baby or care for a relative.
  • You are not sure of your dates and want to avoid a second visa change.
  • You want the lowest cost per day and one approval instead of two.
💡 Job seekers: the 60-day option is usually the safer choice. If you are planning a longer search, also read our guide to the UAE job seeker visa.

Is the Flight Included in an A2A Visa Change?

Not by default. The USD 280 and USD 450 prices cover the new visa and its processing. The exit and return flight is booked separately unless your quote says airfare is included. Always ask before you pay.

When you plan your budget, add:

  • A return flight to a nearby airport. Muscat is the most common route. Other GCC airports are sometimes used.
  • Any fees at the destination airport, if you need to pass through immigration there instead of waiting airside. Ask your consultant about your route.
  • Overstay fines, if your current visa has already expired. These are added before you can exit. See UAE visit visa expired rules.

How Does an A2A Visa Change Work?

The steps are the same for the 30-day and 60-day options. Emirates Visit Visas is a visa agency. We submit your new visa application. We are not the airline and not the GDRFA.

  1. Check your current expiry date. Use our UAE visa expiry date check guide so you exit before you overstay.
  2. Choose 30 or 60 days and send your passport copy, photo and current visa through our application form.
  3. Book your exit and return flight with the airline, or confirm that it is included in your package.
  4. Fly out of the UAE. Your exit is stamped and your current visa is closed.
  5. Receive your new e-visa. We send the new entry permit once it is issued, usually on the same day.
  6. Fly back and enter on the new visa. Your 30 or 60 days start from this entry stamp. You can confirm the new visa with the Emirates visa status tool.

For the full process, routes and timing, read our pillar guide: A2A visa change in UAE.

⚠️ Do not board the return flight without your new e-visa. If the new visa is not issued, you will need to stay outside the UAE or go home. Wait for the approval PDF before you check in.

What Documents Do You Need for an A2A Visa Change?

The document list is the same for both durations:

  • Passport copy, valid for at least 6 months
  • Your current UAE visa and entry stamp
  • A recent passport-style photo with a white background
  • A confirmed exit and return flight booking
  • A national identity card copy, for passports where GDRFA asks for one (for example Pakistan, Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan)

Requirements can change by nationality. We re-check each file against the GDRFA service on the day you apply.

A2A Visa Change or Inside-Country Extension?

An inside-country extension lets you add time to your visa without leaving the UAE. It is only available for eligible visa types, and you must apply before your current visa expires. GDRFA describes visit visa extensions as limited to a total of 120 days, by decision of the issuing authority. An A2A visa change gives you a new visa instead of extending the old one.

  A2A visa change Inside-country extension
Leave the UAE? Yes, a short flight out and back No
Result A new visit visa More days on your current visa
Flight cost Yes No
Our 30-day option 30-day A2A (USD 280) 30-day inside-country extension
Our 60-day option 60-day A2A (USD 450) 60-day inside-country extension

Frequently Asked Questions

Both are airport-to-airport visa changes: you fly out of the UAE, a new visit visa is issued, and you fly back in. The only differences are the length of the new stay (30 or 60 days from re-entry) and the price. Emirates Visit Visas lists the 30-day A2A at USD 280 and the 60-day A2A at USD 450.

The 60-day A2A visa is cheaper per day: about USD 7.50 a day against about USD 9.33 a day for the 30-day option. Two back-to-back 30-day changes would cost USD 560 plus a second flight. If you know you need two months, the 60-day option saves at least USD 110.

Not by default. The A2A package price covers the new visa and processing, and the exit and return flight is booked separately unless your package quote says it includes airfare. Budget for a short return flight, usually to Muscat or another nearby airport, on top of the visa price.

There is no published GDRFA rule that sets a fixed number of A2A changes, but every new visa is a fresh approval and is not guaranteed. Repeated visa changes with no clear purpose raise the chance of refusal. If you already know you need more time, book the 60-day option once instead of two 30-day changes.

The stay is counted from the date of your new entry stamp when you land back in the UAE, not from the date the visa was issued. Check the entry and stay dates on your new e-visa and keep the boarding pass from the exit flight.

An inside-country extension lets you stay without flying, but it is only possible for eligible visa types and before your current visa expires. An A2A visa change works when an inside extension is not available or when you want a fresh visa. Compare both options in the table above before booking.
